CRISTOBAL DIAZ
Cristobal Diaz, alias Cristo, is a director and artistic director. Since childhood, he has exercised his eye and ear to record and decipher the Hip-Hop movement. He grows and navigates through rap, graffiti and breakdance, practices that he constantly explores and lives with intensity.
After a first short film that ironically questioned graffiti engagement and the creative process, he joined the collective FullDawa Films and participated in many film projects. In 2008, he initiated "Artistik Performance", a concept of video art that explores and documents urban artistic creation. This experience gives rise to more than sixty films tracing the gesture and universe of many street artists.
Since 2010, he has been training with Lucas Fabiani the duo author-director KUB & CRISTO. Together, they create more than 100 clips for French rap figures, including Vald, Kery James, Lino, Sofiane, Naps and SCH.
In 2015, he launched a unique project to archive the French graffiti. With an original capture device — the GraffBox — He filmed in real time the creative process of urban artists, capturing their gestures, virtuosity and energy of this culture. He thus drew up an unpublished inventory, bearing witness to the prolific diversity of graffiti and paying tribute to different generations of artists.
